EDWIN C HUNTER,
Edwin C. Hunter, 57, of 814 Tippit St., Carterville, died Monday at Herrin Hospital, where he had been a patient about three weeks.
He was born in Murphysboro May 27, 1911, the son of Henry and Sarah Jane Duke Hunter. He married Gertrude Boyer in Carbondale Sept. 24, 1933.
He was a member of the Grand Avenue Baptist Church in Carterville and was past president of Local 984 Laborer's International Union of North American of Carbondale. He was employed at Technical Tape Co. in Carbondale.
Surviving are his wife Gertrude, of Carterville; daughters, Barbara and Nellie Jane, both at home; sons, Charles of Carterville, Richard of Greenfield, Wis., and Spec. 4 Henry Hunter of Ft. Knox, Ky.; a brother, Chester of Castro Valley, Calif.;and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Riggin Funeral Home, Carterville, with the Rev. N. G. Daniels officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Carterville.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. today.
