HENRY ACKERMAN
Death From Old Age at the Home of His Son
Burial in Jamestown

Tuesday night, at the farm home of his son, Myron Ackerman, 17 miles southeast of Jamestown, occurred the peaceful death of Henry Ackerman, at the ripe old age of 83 years. He had been confined to his bed some little time, but was in no pain, and his strength gradually failed with loss of appetite, until the end came. Roy Ackerman, the other son, is at a hospital in Rochester, Minn., where he expected to undergo an operation.

Henry Ackerman was an old resident, having come to the county in 1884, and lived on his claim for a number of years, the farm being southwest of this city. He afterward resided in Jamestown for several years, but for some time lived with the family of his son, south of Spiritwood, where he died. He was born in Pennsylvania. The remains will be buried in Jamestown and funeral services held Friday pm. at 1:30 o'clock, burial at Highland Home.
**********************************************

Henry was married three times and outlived all:

Wife #1: Louisa (Peck) Ackerman was his first wife married in 1849.

Wife #2: Maryette (Waite) (Tobey) Ackerman was his second wife, married in 1864. Maryette is the mother of Myron Waite Ackerman Sr. of Spiritwood.

Wife #3: Matilda was his third wife, married in 1892.

Henry had three children, Ella (Hinchliff), Calvin Leroy and Myron. Calvin "Roy" is buried at Highland Cemetery; Myron is buried in Spiritwood Cemetery, and Ella's grave has not been located yet (most likely in Appleton, Wisc. area).

Need to confirm Henry's exact date of death; used this date from newspaper article BJ from Jamestown obtained for me.

Per State of ND, Division of Vital Records, they found no death certificate.

Appears that space was left on the Family stone to engrave Henry's name after he died, and it never was done. We will have to check into having it done.
