Domenico immigrated to the U.S. and worked in the Honeybrook Breakers mining area in prior to his death in 1895. The specific year of his immigration is unknown. He was working to save money to bring his wife and young daughter to the U.S. from Italy. But he was shot in Schuylkill county and a few days later, died of the wounds to his chest, near his heart. He was murdered by Lewis Pascuto. He died at St Luke's Hospital in Bethlehem, Lehigh County but they have no death records or his disposition. Pascuto plead guilty to second-degree murder and was sentenced to 15 years in Prison.

He married Carmela Mazzucca in San Fili, Italy in 1889. They had one daughter, Angela (Angelina) Asta Tarantino. Both wife and child eventually immigrated to the U.S. and Carmela remarried.
