"A TRIBUTE TO M. CRANDALL "Recalling his Immersion into the Mississippi Here on Joining the Christadelphians. "Merrel C. Crandall was born at North New Berlin, Chenango county, New York, July 13, 1823. He died March 16, 1906, his age being 82(?) years, nine and 3 days. He was married to Louisa J. Kile at Galena, Ill. Sept 30, 1867. To this union four children were born: Mrs. Eva Schlenz of California: Merrel A., deceased; Mrs. Henry Lebuhn and Mrs John McFale, both of LeClaire, Ia. "At an early age he joined the Methodist church, but in the year 187-(?) he and his wife were both immersed in the Mississippi river at Davenport in the Christadelpian [sic] belief. His wife died March the 18(?), 1903.
