Zion Lutheran Church services in Flaxville were conducted by Rev. Julie Kanarr last Saturday afternoon for Lloyd Page, 86, retired Whitetail farmer, who died Nov. 15th at his home after a long illness.
He was born Feb. 22, 1908 at Swanville, Minnesota, to Wallace and Agnes Kortzman Page, and was raised in Burtrum, attending school there, later farming in the area, before going to work in a World War II defense plant in Detroit, Michigan until 1943.
He had married Miss Ruth Semple, a native Montana girl of the Flaxville community, daughter of John and Moravia Logsdon Semple at Glenwood, Minnesota in July of 1940 and they farmed and ran a dairy before his going to Detroit to work in a defense plant.
The Page family moved to Flaxville in 1943 and in 1956 moved to rural Whitetail to farm and raise cattle.
Wife Ruth, served many years as Whitetail postmaster, before retiring. Lloyd had been on disabled Social Security for many years, but still enjoyed gardening, looked after some cows and enjoyed visiting with people.
