Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 20, 2009 at 3:30 pm at the Fellowshp Baptist Church, with Rev. Lloyd Day, Dr. Dennis Love and Rev. Art Eaton officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery, with military rites. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:30 pm on Friday prior to the funeral at the church.
Mr. Bare was born in Ashe County on Tuesday January 12, 1926 to the late Edd and Alice Bare. He worked as a carpenter. he was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife Pauline Day Bare on May 30, 2004, a brother Claude Bare, five sisters; Haley Johnson, Lucy McMillian, Faye Day, Mira Roop and Hester Bare.
He is survived by one son Dennis Bare of Crumpler, a daughter Dianne Ballou of Jefferson, two grandchildren, Kimberly Miller and Bevin Ballou; one great grandchild, Trenton Miller; and several nieces and nephews.
