Emigrated to the US from Ireland in 1894. Served in the US Navy during the Spanish American War as an Ordinary Seaman on the USS Iowa. In 1900 he was a Seaman on board the USS Lancaster when it made an Atlantic Crossing to Europe. At some time he enlisted in the US Army. By World War I he was a ranch hand working at the O'Brien Ranch, in Brawley, Imperial County, California. He died suddenly at age 47 in 1923 and the location of his remains is unknown.
