Charles H. Acker, of Suffern, died very suddenly at the home of his sister, Mrs. Henry Wright, at Sloatsburg, last Saturday night of fatty degeneracy of the heart. He was helping Mr. Wright in the garden during the afternoon and stopped, saying that he did not feel well. At supper he seemed all right and spent a pleasant evening with his relatives until between nine and ten o'clock when all retired. Shortly afterward Wright heard some noise at his door and, upon opening it, Acker stepped inside and sank into a chair saying: "I guess I'm dying!" Before any assistance could be obtained he expired. Dr. Demurest who was summoned made an autopsy and found the cause of death as stated. The deceased was 51 years of age, he was married but had not lived with his wife for over ten years. One son, Richard, and a daughter, Lizzie, survive him. Mrs. James Van Zile, of Hillburn, is his sister. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the home of Henry Wright. Interment was at the Sloatsburg cemetery.
