He was a graduate of Princeton University. He served with the U. S. Navy during World War I, first as a sailor and then as an aviator. He was a rancher in Encampment, Wyoming owning the A Bar A Ranch for many years. He came here 28 years ago and had lived in La Jolla and Rancho Bernardo. He was a member of the San Diego Yacht Club.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Blayney Anderson, San Diego; and his children Andrew IV of Denver, Colorado, and Mrs. Rosamund Halaby of New York City, his children with his first wife, Rosamund J. Romer. They married June 15, 1925 in University City, St. Louis, Missouri and divorced September 29, 1942 in Rawlins, Wyoming. One sister, Mrs. Clarissa Anderson Gibbs, St. Augustine also survives. He was living in San Diego, CA at the time of his death at 865 San Antonio Place which is where he passed away.

There were no services. Cremation and inurnment will be in Fairmont Cemetery in Denver. The Telophase Society is in charge of arrangements.

A memorial service was held at Flagler Memorial Presbyterian Church in St. Augustine, Florida with Dr. John Thompson Peters and the Rev. Milton Wright officiating.

Mr. Anderson was the son of Dr. & Mrs. Anderson of St. Augustine. His grandfather, Dr. Andrew Anderson, came to St. Augustine in 1829, and bought property which he named Markland. That property is now owned by Flagler College.
