Obituary was printed in Franklin in the Thursday October 17, 1912 edition of The Journal Transcript as follows: Mrs. Johannah O'Sullivan Carroll, wife of Michael Carroll of 11 Russell Street, died at 10 o'clock Sunday evening at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Edward H. Dwyer, 89 Elkins Street. All the members of her family were at the bedside when she passed away. Mrs. Carroll was born in Youghal, County Cork, Ireland, 72 years ago. She came to this country in 1887. Mrs. Carroll was a devoted Catholic and was a member of St. Anne's society. She is survived by four daughters and two sons. Mrs. Gilbert S. Merrill, Mrs. Edward H. Dwyer, Mrs. James P. Hanley and David H. Carroll of Franklin and Mrs. John M. Lynch of Dover and Peter J. Carroll of Pawtucket, R. I.

Mrs. Carroll's death was caused by a shock of appolexy, sustained Friday night on Winnipesaukee Street while she was on her way to visit her daughter, Mrs. Dwyer on Elkins Street, to whose home she was taken. Rev. A. J. Timon administered the last rites of the Catholic church, after which she became unconscious, remaining so until she died. The funeral services were held Wednesday morning at 8 o'cloclk from St Paul's church, solemn high mass of requiem being celebrated by Rev. Fr. Timon, assisted by Rev. A. P. Boire. The attendance was large and there were many handsome floral tributes. Burial was at Holy Cross cemetery. The bearers were Fred Merrill, Michael Carroll, Garrett Cushing, John Lynch, John Cushing and Eugene Cunningham. Martin Cunningham was the funeral director."
