LEWISVILLE- Betty Lou Allhands, 84, passed away on Thursday December 12, 2013 at her home in Lewisville while surrounded by her family. A daughter of the late John Marcus and Luella (Werling) Alexander, Betty was born in New Castle, Indiana on May 9, 1929. A life long resident of Henry County, Betty has lived most of her life in the Lewisville community and was a 1947 graduate of Lewisville High School. A homemaker, Betty took pride in helping her husband Keith on their farm and raising their 3 children. She had worked at the New Hope Nursing Home in Lewisville for 19 years and was a very active member of the Lewisville Presbyterian Church, the Presbyterian Women's Association and the 2 o'clock Club. She loved to spend time with her family and enjoyed her grandkids and great grandkids very much.
Survivors include her husband, Keith Nugen Allhands. They were married in Indianapolis, Indiana and just celebrated 65 years of marriage on September 11th, 3 children, Marcus (Pamela) Allhands of Lewisville, Keith W. (Linda) Allhands of Bennington and Katherine Searcy of Lewisville; 9 grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her sister, Patricia Beam.
