Laura Jean Brainerd entered into eternal rest on Friday, March 14 at age 58. She was active in several fraternal organizations including the Order of the Amaranth, Eastern Star, and The Order of the Rainbow Girls, in addition to being a faithful member of the Church of St. Andrew the Apostle in Rocky Hill.

Laura was most proud of the years she spent caring for the sick as a nurse, after which Laura attended to close family members as they battled various illnesses. Laura will be reunited in heaven with her parents, Edward and Marjorie Brainerd, to whose care she devoted many years. In addition to her parents, Laura was predeceased by her brother-in-law, Larry Anderson. She is survived by her sister Gale Anderson, Gale's children Kathy Anderson, Michael Anderson and wife Emily, Kristen Marcellus and husband Chris, and by her brother Russell Brainerd and wife Diane, and their children Elisa Camera and husband Robert, and Heather Cappello and husband Michael. Laura also leaves her cherished great-nieces and nephews, her Aunt Peggy (Margaret) Johnson, as well as many cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, March 18th at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church at 331 Orchard Street in Rocky Hill. Calling hours will be held on Monday, March 17th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Guiliano Sagarino Brooklawn Funeral Home at 511 Brook Street in Rocky Hill.
