LEVI JOSEPH FANNING CALLED BY DEATH HERE AT 88; FUNERAL HELD
Levi Joseph Fanning, longtime Oregon resident, died at his home in McMinnville Monday. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning with graveside services at LaCenter cemetery.
Mr. Fanning was born in Jacksonville, Ill., May 21, 1851, coming to Oregon a year later. He married Maggie Fowler in 1873 and together they moved to Cowlitz county in 1875. They moved to LaCenter in 1899, the same year that Mrs. Fowler died. He had lived there since that time, marrying Frances Johnson in 1901.
He is survived by Mrs. Fanning, two sons, Sylvester Fanning, Vancouver, Wash., and Grover Johnson, Newberg; two daughters, Mrs. Gladys Tice, McMinnville and Mrs. Mabel McMillen, Roseburg. Macy and Son were in charge of funeral arrangements.
