"Mrs. Eliza Greer, who states born in Troup County, Ga, has a CSA pension application on line in the Georgia Archives virtual vault. She says she married William A Greer on Oct 8, 1868 in Troup County, GA. He enlisted in April 1861 in Louisiana and served until he was captured with Company a of a La Regiment. He was captured near Macon, Ga in the spring of 1865 and was a prisoner of war at Camp Chase, Ohio. He died near Atlanta in Oct 1900.
