She first married Robert Morgan Wasson July 10 1871. To this union was born George William, and Eliza Ellen (Fry). Morgan died in 1881.
She then married James Lee Beck, a widower with seven children of his own, on Dec 23 1882 in Edgar County, Illinois. To this union was born Gertrude Mae (Pearman).
She was widowed again in 1893, but did not remarry.

Mrs. America Beck, one of the few remaining pioneer women of Edgar county and a resident of Chrisman for many years, died at 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 28, 1944, at the home of her son, G.W. Wasson, in Danville at he age of 90 years, 5 months, and 13 days. She had been in failing health the past few years and critically ill recently.
Born in Edgar county, the deceased was a daughter of Ephraim and Martha Hawkings Thompson. Her husband, James Lee Beck, preceded her in death on Feb. 16, 1893. One daughter, Mrs. Thad Frye, is also deceased.
Surviving are the son and one daughter, Mrs. Gertrude Pearman of Terre Haute; also two sisters, Mrs. Nancy Smith Myers of Terre Haute, formerly of Chrisman, and Mrs. Tom Harian of Dana.
Funeral services will be held this (Thursday) afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Owen Funeral Home in Chrisman. Interment will be in Cherry Point cemetery.
