Last Rites Friday For Wm. Eggerss
Funeral services for Wm. Eggerss, 71, will be held at the Trinity Lutheran church here on Friday afternoon with the Rev. Joseph Gerlt officiating. Interment will be in the Avoca cemetery.
Mr. Eggerss had been in ill health for some time and died at the Veteran's Hospital in Omaha on Tuesday.
Born on a farm near Shelby, he lived in the Avoca community all of his life except for time served in the army in World War I.
He was married to Minnie Burmeister on June 12, 1918, who survives him. Mr. Eggerss had a shoe and harness repair shop in Avoca for many years and retired in 1942.
He is survived by his widow; a son, Kenneth; three grandchildren; three brothers, Fred and Herman of Council Bluffs and Paul of Shelby; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Thompson of Council Bluffs and Mrs. Wm. Preuss of Shelby. (The Journal-Herald, Thursday, April 4, 1963, p. 1)
