Jennie Clark married first Edgar P. Trego, 31 July 1861.
He was a hero at the Battle of Chickamauga, where he was killed bringing in some of the wounded men. He was a Captain with Co.H, 8th Kansas INF. Civil War.
Trego County Kansas is named after him.
The Trego family history says. "Jennie is reputed as having been a very charming lady".
