Eva passed away peacefully in her sleep, just as she had hoped. Eva is the second of twelve children born to Luella (Inscho) and Marvin Wood, Sr. She grew up in the Faucett, Missouri area where she attended school. She is preceded in death by her sister, Donna Jo; father; sister, Jessie Faye Olson; Great-grandson, Gavin Hootz; and brother, Hayden Pleasant Wood. She is survived by her mother; fiancé, Cliff Armagost; children, Manda, Tom and Melinda. She is survived by siblings Katherine Rhodes, Marvin Jr., Ruth Schultz, Vanita Johnson, Mildred Ramirez, Andrew, Elizabeth Hansen-Hoeschen, Penny Franz. She has numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Eva worked many years as a dental assistant and in retail in the Kansas City and St. Joseph area. She was a cancer survivor. She was an exceptional cook - especially pies, cookies and cakes. Eva also enjoyed flower gardening and shared her many beautiful blooms with friends and family. Eva was quite fond of dogs and cats. She enjoyed pet sitting for friends that she considered family. Eva was a member of the Eagles Lodge in St. Joseph, Missouri and enjoyed music and dancing.Eva I. Comer, 73, of St. Joseph, passed away Friday, July 8, 2016 at her home.

Eva was born January 8, 1943 in St. Joseph to Marvin and Luella (Inscho) Wood. She was a member of the Eagle's Lodge.

Eva was preceded in death by her father and siblings, Jessie and Hayden Wood.

Surviving family includes mother, Luella Wood, and her children, Manda Donaldson, Tom (Cindy) Donaldson and Melinda Osteen, all of St. Joseph; fiancé, Clifford Armagost, of Savannah; 7 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and siblings, Katherine, Marvin, Mildred, Ruth, Vanita, Elizabeth, Andy and Penny; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ms. Comer has been cremated under the direction of Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel. There will be no visitation or services.
