Paul L Jordan, 82, of Knox, Pa. died Jan 23, 2010 at UPMC Seneca. He was born Mar 23, 1927 in Beaver twp, Clarion County. He was the son of the late Morris and Florence Lohr.

He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the United States Navy. He served on a destroyer in the South Pacific and was honorably discharged in 1946.

After working for McCamant Hardware since age 16, he purchased the business in 1956. Jordan's Hardware was in business for 50 yrs, closing in 2006.

Mr Jordan was a member of St Paul Lutheran Church, serving on the St Paul Cemetery Assoc, church council and the Sunday School board.

He was a 52 yr member of the Knox Volunteer Fire Company, where he was a member of the fire police.

He served as Clarion County treasurer for the fire police for 16 years and was a member of the Knox Business Assoc for more than 20 years.

He was a 32nd Degree Mason and was a 50-year member of the Edenburg Lodge No. 550 of Knox.

He served on the Advisory Board of Mellon bank, the Horsethief planning Committee, and was Knox Borogh tax colector for 36 years.

He was past commander of the Knox American Legion and honored in 1998 as "Citizen of the Year" by the Horsethief committee.


Paul Jordan was buried in St Paul Union Cemetery near the Lutheran Church.
