Final Rites Held Wednesday for Albert Siegrist
Funeral services for Albert Siegrist, 77, rural Niota, were held at 1:0 Wednesday afternoon in the Appanoose Faith Presbyterian church. The Rev. Edward Wilcox officiated, and burial was in Jackson cemetery near Niota.
Mr. Siegrist died at 4:30 a.m. Monday, Jan 17, 1972, in the University hospital, Iowa City, Ia. He had been in failing health several years and seriously ill two weeks.
He was born March 5, 1894, in Niota, the son of Carl and Regina Schleicher Siegrist. He married Mildred Logan on Dec. 15, 1926, near Niota. Mr. Siegrist was a veteran of World War I and a retired farmer.
He is survived by his wife; three sons, Albert of Keokuk, Ia., Darrell of Dade City, Fla., and Donald of Niota; one daughter, Mt. Hamill, Ia.; three sisters, Mrs. Freda Morrill, Dallas City, Mrs. Marguerite McKoon, Niota, and Mrs. Marie Boddecker [sic, Boddeker], Nauvoo; and 13 grandchildren.
