In the passing of Benjamin Russell Touchstone, who died at the residence of his son, J W Touchstone, at Bath, SC, yesterday morning at 4:20 o'clock, Camp 435, United Confederate Veterans, of this city, lost another of its devoted members and another son of the old South passed on. The deceased was 72 years old and had been ill for about two weeks. The funeral will be conducted from Elliott & Sons Funeral Home this afternoon at 3 o'clock with Rev JJ Copeland officiating and interment will follow in West View Cemetery. The survivors are: two sons, William Edward Touchstone, of Plant City, Fla, and John Wesley Touchstone, of Bath; four sisters, Mrs Lizzie Taylor, Mrs Isabella Kent, Mrs Caroline Mills and Mrs Rena Kelly, all of Augusta; fourteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren. The following gentlemen will act as pall bearers; C C Bramlett, W E Kent, E R Mills, F M Kelly, L L Kent and G A Mills. Camp 435, UCV, will attend the funeral in a body.
