Charles W. Baker was shown on census records as a farmer, laborer, butcher, and teamster. In checking the Westport Historical Archives, it also appears that Charles was a member of the Westport Militia in 1856, and was also elected to be a "Field Driver" for the town of Westport in 1859 & 1860.
He married Abbie Davol (Tripp) Baker in 1854, in Westport. They had five children (that I can find, so far): Daniel Albert Baker, Carrie Louisa (Baker) Hicks, Arthur Baker, Isabella Tripp (Baker) Sisson, and Mary A. Baker.
