WELLS – Barbara J. Allen, 88, of North Berwick Road, passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2006, in the Newton Center in Sanford, Maine, after a period of failing health.
She was born September 12, 1918, in North Berwick, Maine, a daughter of Homer F. and Emma F. (Goodwin) McCrellis.
She was educated in the North Berwick school system. After raising her family, she worked as an Inspector at Converse.
Barbara was an avid reader.
She was predeceased by her husband, Fred Allen; a son, John Allen; a great-granddaughter, Stephanie Deyo; and 2 brothers, Donald and Carl McCrellis.
She is survived by her sister, Pauline McCrellis, of Wells, with whom she resided for many years; a son, William Allen of Portland; 2 daughters, Diane Dolan of Wells, and Janice Woodman of Sanford; and 7 grandchildren, Gary Dolan and his wife, Nancy, Karen Woodman, Lynn Dolan-Richard and her husband Steve, Beth Vetree and her husband Allen, Chris Hall and her husband Shawn, and Katie Allen; and 6 great-grandchildren.
