Linda M. Angstrom unexpectedly passed away on Friday, January 20, 2012, in Portland, Oregon, at the age of 67.

Linda was born on November 30, 1944 in Kansas City, Missouri to Everett Miller and Beulah Nelson. She graduated from Henry-Senachwine High School in Henry, Illinois in 1962. Linda married Walter J. Angstrom on January 14, 1985. He survives at the family home. Linda worked for many organizations including the CIA, Oregon Highway Department and numerous private firms across the country while raising her family. She has been a Clatsop County resident since 1974. Linda retired from the Oregon State Police in Astoria after 23 years of dedicated service as an office coordinator.

Linda was a faithful member and diligent volunteer at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church and the St. Francis de Sales Mission. She was also a member of other community organizations including the Catholic Daughters, Star of the Sea School Board of Directors, Wauna Federal Credit Union Board of Directors, Lady's Auxiliary of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, American Legion Auxiliary, and the Red Hat Society. She had also been a troop leader in the Girls Scouts of America, a den mother for the Boy Scouts of America, and a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Society, FHA and the National Honor Society. She was a volunteer and supporter of the St. Vincent de Paul Food Bank located at St. Mary's in Astoria.

Linda is survived by her husband, Walter Angstrom of Hammond, OR; her son and his wife, Chris and Geri Hildebrand of Port Orchard, WA; daughter, Mary Briggs of Hammond, OR; daughter and son-in-law La Chel & Ken Carson of Eugene, OR; daughter Dawn Angstrom of Vancouver, WA; daughter Tiffany Silvius of Vancouver, WA; her daughter and son-in-law Tara and Chad McCabe, of Vancouver, WA; her brother Bob Harrison of El Dorado, Arkansas; and 17 grandchildren.

A funeral mass for Linda will be held at St. Francis de Sales Mission, 867 5th Ave., Hammond, Oregon on Saturday, January 28, 2012. The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 10:30 am with the Funeral Mass beginning at 11:00 am. A graveside service will follow at Ocean View Cemetery in Warrenton, Oregon.

Memorial Contributions may be given to St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry, 1465 Grand Ave., Astoria, Oregon 97103.
