On Monday morning about 9 o'clock Mrs. Cora boyd, wife of Elmer Boyd, living about four miles northeast of town, died of Bright's kidney disease. Mrs. Boyd was the daughter of Joseph Lamb. She was born on the 30th day of March, 1873, and was nearly twenty-three years old when she died. She was married to Elmer Boyd on the 4th day of April, 1894. The funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the house to which she had come a happy bride only two short years before. The sermon was preached by Rev. E.C. Boaz, of Narka. At the conclusion of the sermon the remains were conveyed to the Lamb cemetery for interment, followed by an immense concourse of neighbors and friends. Mrs. Boyd leaves a husband, father, step-mother, two brothers, four half-brothers and on half-sister to mourn their loss. Her own mother has been dead sixteen years.
