Audrey Ann Haugen of Des Peres, Mo. (and long-time resident of the Dallas, Texas area) died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at Sunrise of Des Peres Senior Living after a seven-year fight against Lewy Body Dementia.

Audrey was born in Dallas, Texas, on Oct. 6, 1938 to Curtis Ira and Willa Mae Hinkle. She attended high school in DeSoto, Texas, and graduated as a licensed practical nurse from the Baylor Medical Center in Dallas. She was a very creative person who loved sewing, photography and collectibles.

Audrey was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Nolan Hinkle.

She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Allan R. Haugen of Sunset Hills, Mo.; three children: Susan (Duffy) Doherty of Spring Valley, Calif., Gregory (Stephanie) Sparkman of Allen, Texas, and Kelly (Shirl) Sparkman of Arlington, Texas; one sister, June Davis of Gray, La.; five brothers: Charles, Gary, Michael, Danny and Ricky Hinkle, all of the East Texas area; three step-daughters: Michelle (Keith) Sappington of Columbia, Mo., Lisa (Jim) Mantia of Crestwood, Mo., and Heidi Haugen Swanson of Escondido, Calif.; four grandchildren; five step-grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Audrey was a life-long member of the Assembly of God Church.

A memorial service and celebration of Audrey's life was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at South Park Assembly of God Church, 802 S. Rogers St. in Waxahachie.
