Graveside services for Louis S. Lawrence of Willamina will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Evergreen memorial Park, McMinnville. The Rev. Gerald McCray will officiate.

Mr. Lawrence died Nov. 30, 1988, in Good Samaritan Hospital in Portland. He was 69.

He was born March 7, 1919, in McMinnville, the son of Franklin and Dema Howard Lawrence. He was raised and educated in McMinnville.

He moved to Amity in 1943 and lived there and in Lafayette and Yamhill until 1950, when he moved to Sweet Home.

In 1978, he moved to Willamina where he lived since. He retired from Willamette Industries in 1978.

He married Nellie Howell on Feb. 16, 1983, in Reno.

Mr. Lawrence is survived by his wife, Nellie; a son, Frank Lawrence of Dayton, Ohio; two step-sons, William Anderson of Sweet Home and Wendell Anderson of Santa Maria, Calif.; a daughter, Geneva Lawrence of Lebanon; five step-daughters, Mary Smith of Yamhill, Marian Reynolds of Sweet Home, Betty Hadley of Eugene, Barbara Howell of Roseburg, Wash.; and Jean MacLees of Bingin, Wash.; two brothers, Armine Howard of McMinnville and Levelle Howard of Amity; 34 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

His first wife, Lucy, preceded him in death in 1982.
