Services for James "Dr. J" Angton, 66, Tyler, are scheduled for noon Saturday at Peoples Baptist Church with the Rev. Zeb Cantley officiating.

Burial will be in Pinery Cemetery, Palestine, under direction of John R. Harmon Undertaking Co., Tyler.

Mr. Angton died Dec. 2, 2008, in a Tyler hospice.

He was born Nov. 22, 1942, in Palestine, and graduated from Neches High School. He lived in Smith County since 1966, was a foreman at Tyler Pipe for 36 years, and was a member of New Brown Springs Baptist Church of Palestine where he served as a deacon and taught Sunday school, and a member of Fleetside Truckers.

Survivors include his wife, Gloria Angton, Tyler; sons, Dennis Angton and Anthony Angton, both of Tyler; brother, Frank Angton, Pampa; and three grandchildren.
