THE ENTERPRISE-RECORDER, MADISON FLORIDA, FRIDAY, MAY 14, 1959:"Former Editor Dies: Royal C. Dunn, 83, of Cross City died, Saturday in a Gainesville Hospital. The deceased was a native of Kinston,N.C., but lived most of his life in Florida.
He taught school in Madison County many years ago, and married Miss Ida Hinely of this county. Later he was editor & owner of the old Madison recorder, which he sold in 1908 to Columbus B. Smith, who consolidated the two papers then publishing in Madison into the present Enterprise-Recorder. Mr. Dunn served a number of terms as State Railroad Commissioner and in recent years twice represented Dixie county in the State Legislature.
Burial will be in the cemetery at Astatula, in Lake County."
