BUIKEMA - Evelyn Buikema (Walma), age 79, of Grandville. "One who walks a road with love will never walk the road alone." Born December 13, 1931, Evelyn went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Christmas Day. She passed away peacefully in her home of 57 years. Evelyn is survived by her husband of nearly 62 years, Don. She is also survived by their children, Rick and Bev Buikema, Ron and Nancy Buikema, Sandy and Duane Holstege; grandchildren and great grandchildren, Rob and Tamara Buikema (Alexis, Riley), Lisa and Justin Johnson (Taylor, Grace, Tristan), Angela and Greg Bush, Todd and Sara Buikema (Hailey), Roxie and Tim Coeling, Christy and Jerry Thalison; sisters, Gracie Wilbur, Nellie Oppewall; brother-in-law, John Cuperus; sister-in-law, Grace Walma; several nieces, nephews, cousins. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville), 4145 Chicago Drive with Rev. Allan Jongsma and Mel VanderBie officiating.
