84, of Newport, Wash.
Rova Anna Kriebel Jones, 84,
longtime resident of Newport,
Wash., passed away at Life Care
Center in Lewiston, Idaho on Jan 28,
2001. She was born on Dec 8, 1916 in
Palouse, Wash. to Clarence J. Kriebel
and Ollie Grace Timm Kriebel. After
graduating from high school and
attending one year of post graduate
high school in Garfield, Wash., she
worked in the Garfield area until her
marrieage to Blake Jones on June 24,
1939. They lived in several locations
around the Northwest while Blake worked
electrical and telephone line construction
and maintenance moving to Newport in 1950,
where they continued to live.
After retirement in 1974, the couple
divided their time between Newport and
Quartzsite, Ariz. Blake Jones passed
away in August 1985. Rova continued to
spend her winters in Arizona until last
year. She spent one year in the Life
Care Center in Lewiston near family.
Rova Jones was a longtime member of the
United Church of Christ, the Order of
Eastern Star, P.E.O., and many other
local organizations and community
activities for as long as she was able
to do so.
She is survived by two daughters Nina
Leisi (Bill) in Pullman, Wash. and Linda
Kay Theis (Thomas) in Midland, Mich.;
two sisters Lola Lemon in Garfield and
Nina Parcel in Longview, Wash; two
brothers Dick Kriebel and Donald Kriebel,
both of Garfield; two grandchildren,
Matthew Theis and Kristie Theis; and
numerous nieces and nephews. She was
preceded in death by one sister Mamie
Jones and one brother Elmer Kriebel.
Memorial services are scheduled for
Tuesday, Feb 13 at 11am at the United
Church of Christ in Newport. Burial
will be at Garfield. The family suggest
memorials to the United Church of Christ
or the American Lung Association for
asthma research.
