Janet Bedwell was born July 6, 1958 in Memphis, Tennessee to parents Bill Boren and Cholly Boren Clifford. She passed from this life on February 12, 2013 after a brief and courageous battle with cancer. Janet is survived by her beloved husband Ken Bedwell, her three children, Charles Clifford Wood (Chaz), Ashlee Wood, and Cody Franklin Wood, grandson A.J. Griffin, sister Charlza Boren Burt (Billy), brother George Boren, and mother Cholly Clifford. Janet was also a very special Mama Janet to Josh, Jeffrey and Cory Bedwell.

Janet spent most of her life in the Pensacola area and was a graduate of Tate High School. After college she returned to Pensacola and held various jobs. She was most recently employed at the Gonzalez Methodist Enrichment Center and had also worked at the Gateway Christian Preschool for over 10 years. It was here that Janet truly shared her gift of love and encouragement to many young parents as she cared for and educated their children. She loved "her babies" and she delighted in giving them a positive, strong start in education.

Perhaps the greatest passion of Janet's heart was in walking daily with her God. She was a strong Christian woman that lived her faith openly for all to see, and she eagerly shared her story of faith with all who were interested. Her example of faith and grace in times of personal and medical stress was truly a gift for those in her presence.

Front porch rockers, backyard swings, days at The Farm and slow rainy days all have a sweeter meaning in the memories of those who knew and loved her best.

A celebration of the life of Janet Boren Bedwell will be held 3-5 P.M. Sunday February 17th. 2013 at Allen Memorial Methodist Church, 206 Pace Parkway in Cantonment, Florida. The family would like to invite all her friends and family to attend.

A additional Celebration of Life in Janet's honor will be held on Sunday, February 24th at 2:30 p.m. The celebration will be hosted by Janet's treasured church family at First City Church, 1301 East Gadsden Street in Pensacola. It was Janet's request that in lieu of flowers any donations be made to the First City Church. Condolences and messages may also be left for the family on Janet's CaringBridge page at www.caringbridge.org/visit/janetbedwell/.
