Pvt. Adams was killed in action at the worst battle of World War II. Uncle Joe is buried in Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery in Belgium, Germany.

My grandfather, Hugh Wyllie, was Uncle Joe's half brother. Grandaddy raised Uncle Joe after his mother and father gave him up.

Uncle Joe received the Purple Heart and Combat Infantry Badge. He was a Private in the Army, Company F, 60th Infantry, 9th Division.

The picture of the cross with his name on it, is his cross where he is buried.

Everyone that knew him said he was a wonderful, sincere, honest, and hard working man.

I didn't get to know him but I honor and keep him in my heart always.
