Born in St Louis to Eddie and Eunice Wade Clark, Mildred was the next to last of six children. She met her husband on a trip to Indiana with her sister, Mary and husband, Elmer Fewell. There she met Elmer's cousin, Walter Edgar Bright. They had a mutual attraction immediately, and after he graduated from college they were married. They lived first in Madison, Indiana, where they had two children. At the beginning of World War II,they moved to Akron, Ohio where he worked for Goodyear Aircraft Company. Goodyear sent them to Arizona in 1943 and when the war ended he returned to his chosen calling, education, as did Mildred. Later they moved to Phoenix. Her teaching career lasted for 37 years.
She passed away July 10, 2009, just a few months short of her 102nd birthday. She was laid to rest on July 15, 2009 which would have been Mildred and Walter's 73rd Anniversary.
She is remembered with great love and admiration as a wonderful wife, mother, and educator.
