Former Iowa Citian,
Dies in Los Angeles
John H. Baker, 75, retired florist and former Iowa Citian, died at Los Angeles last Wednesday, it was learned here.
Mr. Baker was born in Iowa City February 18, 1871, the son of Samuel and Mary Baker, and left the city when he was a young man.
Surviving him are a son, Theodore, two daughters, Ruth and Eleanor, all of the Los Angeles area; and a sister, Mrs. H. C. Wieneke of 1606 Muscatine avenue.
He was preceded in deathe by two sisters, Mrs. John T. Ries of Iowa City and Mrs. Frank Murphy of Knoxville. Mr. Baker was a bookbinder and later a florist. He was buried in Los Angeles after services there.
