Funeral services for John Thomas Bale, 81, Dewey, OK, formerly of West Plains, were at 2pm Aug 27 at First Church of God, Dewey, OK with Revs. Ross Atkins, James Hawkins and Millard Means officiating.
Mr. Bale died Aug 24, in OK. He was born Jan 11, 1903, Horse Cave, Ky, the son of the late Marrie Ora Payton and Robert B. Bale.
When he was 8 years old the family moved to rural West Plains and he attended the Elk Creek community schools in Howell Co. He completed a business administration education at the West Plains Business College.
He was married April 27, 1923 at West Plains to Sylvia Audrey Bonham and they moved to Dewey, OK in 1925. Mr. Bale was employed with Dewey Portland Cement for 38 years. He was a member of the First Church of God in Dewey.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Sylvia Audrey Bale, Debey; 4 sons, Leland Dean Baile, Dallas TX, Dr. John Thomas Bale Jr, Stillwater OK, James Clifford Bale, Coffeyville KS, and Larry Wayne Bale, Caney KS; 2 daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Hanson, Duncanville TX, and Miss Judith (Judy) Elaine Bale, Dallas TX; one brother, Robert Edwin Bale, Liberty; 2 sisters, Mrs. Arthur (Lucille) Elliott, Humboldt KS and Mrs Wayne (Alice) Trantham, Liberty; ?? grandchildren and 21 gr-granchildren; 2 half sisters, Mrs. Mary Burd, Louisville KY, and Mrs. Ruth Frazee, Springfield.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mattie Sybil Bale, one brother, James Payton Bale, and one sister, Mrs. Pearl Huddleston.
Burial in Dewey Cemetery.
