GLEN ULLIN -- Gertrude Bleth, 75, Glen Ullin, died June 22, 1999, in Glen Ullin. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MDT Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Glen Ullin, with the Rev. Francis dos Remedios officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will begin after 5 p.m. MDT today, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Glen Ullin. A Christian Mothers Rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the church.
Gertrude was born on Oct. 10, 1923, in Glen Ullin, the daughter of Paul and Margaret (Wetzstein) Kobilansky. She was raised and educated in rural Glen Ullin. She worked on her father's farm until her marriage to Frank Bleth on March 8, 1943, in Glen Ullin. Following their marriage, they lived at Dothon, Ala., for a short time. When Frank was discharged from the military, they returned to the Glen Ullin area and farmed south of Glen Ullin. In 1976, they retired and moved into town, where she has resided since. Frank died on Oct. 22, 1986.
She was a member of the Christian Mothers.
She is survived by four daughters, Peggy Herz, Mandaree, Trish and Terry Gartner, Fargo, Roberta and Gary Herz, Williston, and Betty and Val Belverstone, Bismarck; two sons, Robert and Gaynelle Bleth, Fort Worth, Texas, and David and Trish Bleth, Chandler, Ariz.; 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Pauline Gietzen, Bismarck; Mary Messer, Royal City, Wash., and Theresa Steckler, Livingston, Mont.; and two brothers, Mike Kobilansky and Henry Kobilansky, both of Glen Ullin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank; her brother, Paul; a son-in-law, Clarence; and two grandsons, Kevin Herz and Tyler Schmidt. (Spangelo Funeral Home, Glen Ullin)
