Deceased Name: Frances Bleth
Frances Bleth, 93, St. Vincent's Care Center, Bismarck, died Aug. 15, 1997, in the care center. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. Vincent's Care Center Chapel, Bismarck, with the Rev. Thomas E. Kramer, Frances' nephew, officiating. Interment will be in Mandan Union Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the care center chapel, where a rosary will be said at 7 p.m.
Frances Schneider was born Sept. 10, 1903 in Glen Ullin, the daughter of Frank and Margaret (Wise) Schneider. Shortly after her birth, Frank Schneider died and her mother married Sam Weiand. Frances was raised and educated in Glen Ullin, graduating from Glen Ullin High School, where she played on the girls basketball team. She received her teaching certificate from Valley City Teachers College, and taught in the Fort Rice and Huff areas. She married Valentine Bleth and they lived in Glen Ullin.
Frances later moved to Bismarck, where her employment included: Dakota National Bank, Q&R Clinic, Gulf Oil Co. and the North Dakota Employment Security Bureau, from which she retired in 1971. After her retirement she was honored by the North Dakota Geological Society, did volunteer work for the handicapped, delivered Meals on Wheels, and was active in the St. Alexius and St. Vincent's auxiliaries, having served as treasurer of both groups.
Frances is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Donna Hover, San Jose, Calif., and Pat and John Stewart, Rapid City, S.D.; 10 grandchildren, Robert Hover, Alaska, John Hover, Andrew Hover, Pam Hover Frye and Patti Hover Sims, all of California, Kathy Kasper Stewart, Burke, Va., Ronda Kasper Kincheloe, Green Bay, Wis., Lora Kasper Weimer, Woodbury, Minn., and Tom and Terry Kasper, both of Duluth, Minn.; and 21 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three step-grandchildren, David and Doug Stewart, and Suzanne Ley; and seven step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Mary Deibert and Germaine Cusciotto; and one brother, Adolph Weiand. (Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck)
