Obituary from Daily Herald dated Sept. 28, 1903:

"JOSEPH ALIGRATE DEAD"

"After an illness of three weeks, Jos. Aligrate, called by his friends, 'Boy Noy,' died at 11:30 this morning at the age of 35 years. He was born and reared in Biloxi and has a large number of friends here who deeply regret his death. His surviving mother, Mrs. Joseph Aligrate, and four sisters, Mrs. Chris Juanico, Mrs. Joseph Pantell, Mrs Frank Coniard and Mrs. W. Knox, survive him. The deceased was a member of the Oystermen's Protection Association. His funeral will take place tomorrow at 3 o'clock, Rev. Father Alphonse officiating".
