Mrs. Lettie Black
Coshocton -- Mrs. Lettie Black, 84, of Coshocton, widow of Grant Black, died at 11:45 p.m. Friday at the Wynsor Nursing Home following an illness of six months.
Mrs. Black was born at Bird's Run, Guernsey County on July 26, 1878, a daughter of Samuel and Phoebe Neely Bennett.
She was a member of the Bird's Run Methodist Church.
Surviving are seven daughters, Mrs. Lillie Welker of Coshocton with whom she made her home; Mrs. Freda Shatto of St. Petersburg, Fla.; Mrs. Ella Beach of Adamsville; Mrs. Reba Shatto, Mrs. Mary Kern, Mrs. Pearl Starkey and Mrs. Fay Smith, all of Columbus; two sons, John Black of Canton, and Shelton of Ft. Laudedale, Fla.; a brother, Dan Bennett of Cambridge, two sisters, Mrs. William Whittle and Mrs. Sarah Ford, both of Cambridge; 19 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. Her husband died in 1952. Two daughters, a son, three brothers and a sister also preceded her in death.
The body was removed to Gibson - Bontrager Funeral Home where services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday with Rev. Aaron Cunningham officiating. Burial will be at Otsego.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today.
