According to family stories, she met Court in San Jose where she worked as a chocolate dipper at O'Brien's Cafe and Candy Store. She followed Court to Chicago where they were married. While working in Chicago, Court got word of an opening in New Orleans with Anheuser-Busch that required a letter of application. She was eager to go to New Orleans but he indifferent. He told her that if she was so eager she should write the letter. She did. Court got an invitation to interview and he got the job. Their first daughter Lucille was born in New Orleans.
The family lived about four years in New Orleans and then Court received a company transfer to New York where their second daughter Gloria was born. Upon Court's semi-retirement they moved back to home territory in Millbrae, California.
Widowed in 1939 she lived another 45 years enjoying a life that despite the Depression years had been well provided for by Court, surrounded by family and grandchildren.
