William Fred Amburn, age 80, of Blue Ridge Drive, Memphis, formerly of Maryville, passed away 11:50 p.m. Wednesday, December 5, 2001 at Methodist North Hospital, Memphis. Member and Deacon of Lower Chilhowee Baptist Church, Veteran and POW of WWII serving in U.S. Army.
Survivors: daughter and son-in-law, Patty and Dick Dittmar, Maryville; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Janine Amburn, Ballplay, Rev. Leon and Annis Amburn, Maryville, Rev. Don and Cindy Amburn, Memphis, Steve and Janie Amburn, Rick Amburn all of Maryville; 10 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sisters, Ruth Anderson, Cookeville, Dallie McKeehan, Thressie Kirkland, Verdell Kirkland, Odell Daily, Grace Steed; brother, Leonard Amburn all of Maryvile; several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by wife, Myrtle Amburn
Funeral 10 a.m. Saturday, Lower Chilhowee Baptist Church, Rev. Buford Albright and Rev. Conward Cline officiating. Interment in church cemetery. Family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Friday at Biereley-Hale Funeral Home,
