Evert arrived in America at the Port of New York on April 27, 1847, departed from Rotterdam, Netherlands on the Ship Proteus. He traveled as a single man, farmer by trade.

Evert Boers married first, Bedelia Lansing (widow of Gerrit Jan Lansing) in 1849. Evert, a widower, married second, Rachel S Johnson in 1883 in Pierce County Wisconsin. He has no known children.

February 24, 1910 Spring Valley Sun : Every Boers was taken suddenly ill with hemorrhage of the brain Sunday Feb 13th and died Tuesday Feb. 15th.
Mr Boers was one of the early settlers in the town of Rock Elm. Moving here about 45 years ago (1865) His age was 87 years 10 months and 26 days. He leaves to mourn his death an aged wife an a step son Ed Johnston, besides many friends.
The funeral was held at the M. E. Church at Rock Elm Friday. Rev. Beers of Ono officiating, the remains were laid to rest in Poplar Hill Cemetery. No particulars as to his earlier life can be obtained.
