Elizabeth Lauren "Libbie" Ainsworth was welcomed into the loving arms of her Lord Jesus on January 3, 2012 in Columbus, Georgia following injuries sustained in a single car accident. Libbie was a sophomore at Auburn University and a 2010 graduate of Coppell High School. She was born on September 23, 1991 and was a long time resident of Coppell, Texas.
Libbie loved life and had a passion for people and sharing her love of Jesus with others. She lit up a room when she entered it with her beautiful smile and piercing eyes. Everyone felt comfortable around Libbie as she opened her heart to all she met.
Libbie loved sports, playing both soccer and volleyball during many of her school years. She loved Coppell football and was extremely proud of her brother, Matthew, as he played football and lacrosse. As she went to college her love for football continued and she enjoyed cheering for Auburn, especially her boyfriend, Drew Cole, who was on the team.
Music was a true passion for Libbie. She played the piano and sang with a contagious, joyous spirit. Libbie was captain of the Vivace show choir at CHS her senior year and she performed with an exuberant presence.
Libbie loved her Lord and loved serving Him any way that she could. She was an active member at Valley Ranch Baptist Church in their youth activities…most recently helping out with their Christmas Store for those in the community with needs. She loved mission work and experienced a life change after a trip to Kenya, Africa during the summer of 2010. Libbie also participated in Camp at Fellowship Church for a number of years as a "camper" and then as a counselor.
At Auburn Libbie was aspiring to be an interior designer. Her online student portfolio contains sketches that demonstrate her talents. Her passion for tasteful, modern home designs was stunning. She was an active member of Phi Mu sorority and loved the time spent with her "sisters".
Libbie was able to be an organ donor and will be a part of saving others' lives. That is no surprise to those who knew her and loved her. Survivors include her parents, George and Jean Ainsworth of Coppell, her brother Matthew also from Coppell and her grandmother, Margaret Ainsworth of Bay Springs, Mississippi. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Wally and Rochelle Waldrop of Round Rock, Texas, and her grandfather Felix "Bubo" Ainsworth of Bay Springs Mississippi. Also surviving are many aunts, uncles and cousins that loved her dearly along with numerous friends from the Coppell and Auburn communities.
Service times include a visitation on Saturday, January 7th at the Restland Funeral Home in Coppell from 5-8 pm. A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, January 8th at Valley Ranch Baptist Church, Coppell, at 2 p.m. The family has requested that you wear pink or animal prints if possible to commemorate her zest for life. Libbie's final resting place will be in Bay Springs, Mississippi.
