Luther Allen Loses Two Children; Third Is Sent to Hospital
The hand of affliction was laid heavily upon the family of Mr. and Mrs. Luther Allen the past week and as a result two of their children were laid to rest in the Sandy Creek cemetery, while another was on Monday sent to the Cameron Hospital. Aggravated cases of the "flu" were responsible, the attending physician stating that he had never seen a more virulent type.
The first death occurred last Friday morning when Marjory, the little daughter of the family, who would have been four years of age in April, succumbed. The funeral was held Saturday afternoon.
On Sunday afternoon, another daughter, Mabel, aged 14, was called, the funeral being held Monday. Rev. Garrett, pastor of the First Baptist Church, conducted both funerals.
Monday afternoon on advise of the family physician, Arthur, aged 9, was carried to the Cameron Hospital, where he is at this writing reported, in a somewhat improved condition.
The Reporter joins in expressions of sympathy to the bereaved family.
