Travis Adams


Travis Adams of Downingtown formerly of Philadelphia Travis Adams, who his family lovingly called "Trav" or "Trapper Napper", was born October 14, 1966 in Philadelphia, at Presbyterian Hospital. Travis unexpectantly left this life on Thursday, March 17 at 5:55am. Travis accepted Jesus Christ as his Personal Savior at a young age. During his youth and teenage years Travis became a member of Sanctuary Church of the Open Door. He was baptized by Bishop Audrey F. Bronson. Travis sang on the small voices choir for many years. After moving to Downingtown he attended church with his parents or his sister and brother-in-law. Travis received his education from the Philadelphia school system. During his senior year of high school Travis began working at Presbyterian Hospital, which he called "Presby". After his graduation Travis was hired as a full-time Environmental Services Associate. Until his untimely death Travis' provided Presbyterian Hospital and Sedexo with 26 years of dedicated service. Travis loved Philadelphia. Travis would often leave home early so that he could go shopping, get his haircut, or just shoot the breeze at "Cliff's Shoe Shop". Travis had many hobbies and interest. His number one interest was traveling. Travis was saving his money to take a trip in August with his mother and other family members to Ghana, West Africa. Travis' hobbies included electronics. Travis loved gadgets which included his computer, his computer software, his Wii, and his iPhone. He also loved chatting on Facebook. Another one of Travis' interest was his Nieces and Nephews. Travis loved children and children loved him. He loved stashing all types of goodies so that he had snacks for their visits; planning fun outings for them; and shopping for their Birthday and Christmas gifts. With all that has been said Travis' best quality was his heart. Travis loved people and he loved life. If you needed Travis he was there for you. He loved life and he moved throughout it freely, doing the things he liked doing, going to the places he wanted to go, and when he wanted to go. Travis leaves behind to carry on his memory, his Parents: Alfred and Laverne Adams; his Sister Juanda A. Adams Alston (Lorenzo Alston); his Brother: A. Jerome Adams (Angela Adams); Nieces and Nephews: N'kichi Pittman, Shanae Adams, Ashley Adams, Alfred J. (Scootie) Adams Jr, Anyae Hall, Anyah Adams, Adrianna Adams, Jakhi Fisher (also a God son), and Ciara Alston. Uncles: His special Uncle Hersey Gray (Myrtis Gray); Best Friend: Eric Burrell, and all of his friends and co-workers at Sedexo and Presbyterian Hospital; along with a host of additional Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and Friends. Two Funds have been started in Travis' name: - Travis Adams Service Award Fund; - Uncle Travis Educational Fund.
