Carl was born in either Gossater Vastra Gotalands Lan, Sweden OR in Kinekulle, Sweden, with the surname of 'Amandusson'. After immigrating to America, however, his surname was shortened to Manderson.

"CARL G. MANDERSON
"Carl Gustaf Manderson, who was born in Kinekulle, Sweden, in 1889, and came to Portland in 1906, died Tuesday at St. Vincent Hospital. He was 75.
"Mr. Manderson lived at 1212 SW 4th Ave., was a pile driver for 30 years for Jacobson Construction Co., and a member of the pile driver's union.
"He is survived by two daughters, Alice Overland and Margaret Koski, both of Portland; a sister, Hildur Haglund, Oakland, Calif.; three brothers and two sisters in Sweden; and two grandchildren.
"Funeral will be at 9:30 am Friday at the Little Chapel of the Chimes with burial in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery."
