Ron was the second child of Shirley Florence Adkins (who was born in Utah) and Henderson Edward "Johnny" Adams (who was born in Kentucky). He had an older brother, Roy, and a younger sister, Carol. Their growing up years were spent in Salt Lake City. Ron loved his motorcycle and spent many hours riding and enjoying the feel of the breeze and the passing scenery. Ron was married for a short time, then divorced. They had one child, also named Ronald. Ron died from lung disease.
