TULSA, Okla. - Leonard "Butch" Abbott, 63, died Monday, Feb. 27, 2006, in Tulsa, Okla.

He was born March 25, 1942, to Clifton and Pauline (Wilson) Abbott.

Butch first married Carol Eileen Chenault September, 1959 in Miami, Oklahoma.

He married Darlene Gash Elledge March 20,1997, in Perryton, Texas. She survives.

He graduated from Checotah (Okla.) High School and Panhandle State A & M College.

He was a self-employed rancher.

He attended the First Baptist Church.

He loved to fly his airplane and belonged to the Mid America Airplane Museum. In his spare time, he loved to play computer games.

Other survivors include his parents; two sons, Bud Abbott, Tulsa, and Cliff Abbott and wife, Shari, Liberal; two daughters, Marcia Eddy and husband, Rick, Rockwall, Texas, and Thena Knight and husband, Tré, Broken Arrow, Okla.; two step sons, Jack Kitch and Mike Elledge, both of Franklin, Tenn.; one step daughter, Diana Warden, Yukon, Okla.; nine grandchildren, Bo, Blake, Bram and Britton Abbott, Chelsey and Brooke Eddy and Ashley, T.J. and Carissa Knight; four step grandchildren, Troy Elledge, Tara Rush and Shane and Trevor Warden; one great-grandchild, Madison Rush; one sister, Dorothy Phillips and husband, Dwaine, Piedmont, Okla.; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Ray Abbott, and one sister Shirley Abbott Collins.

* Funeral services were at 2 p.m. today in the First Baptist Church with Dr. Preston Collins presiding.

Burial followed at Greenlawn Cemetery.
