Sadie Mae Adamson was born Sadie Mae Jones in 1935, during the Great Depression and was the ninth child born in her family at home on a farm in New Madrid County, Missouri.

After being raised on a farm with very few amenities, she graduated from high school in 1954.

In the same year, she traveled to California with her brother, Wilber Jones and his family.

She gained employment in San Francisco at the U.S. Treasury Department, where she met her future husband, John Patterson Adamson.

They were married Jan. 25, 1958 in Reno, Nevada. They lived in San Francisco's Mission District where their first child, John Patrick was born on July 10, 1959. After buying a home in Palo Alto, their second child, Barbara Jayne was born on Feb. 22, 1961. Their third child a daughter named Donna Mae Adamson was born on Sept. 12, 1968, in S. San Francisco.

Sadie got a job as a data processor at Peninsula Hospital.

John died in 1982 of a heart attack. Sadie never remarried.

Sadie lover her grandchildren, Kelsey and Wade. She moved to Mariposa to be more a part of their lives for the past 12 years.

She was always very active, teaching Sabbath School, sewing and creating projects for the church and Donna's classroom.

Sadie is survived by her three children: John, Barbara and Donna; five grandchildren, Wade, Kelsey, Luke, Cain and Eve; two brothers, Willis and Leroy Jones; and many nieces and nephews.

She passed away at home with all three of her children by her side. She loved life and all that was in it. She never withdrew from family and friends. She held onto life like a precious coin that she wasn't willing to give up.

Sadie will be remembered by all who knew her. Tears will be shed often in the future when she is thought of by the ones who loved her.
